At the most recent Board meeting held on 29 January 2025 we welcomed Ms Jody Redman, the new General Manager of the Pullman Magenta Shores Hotel. Once some paperwork is finalised Jody will become a member of the Board in accordance with the Club’s Constitution and the Hotel Agreement. We look forward to working with Jody in furthering the relationship between the Hotel and the Club. Members should be aware that the liquor licence held by the Hotel applies across the Hotel and the golf course complex. The Club has no special rights to sell or distribute alcohol anywhere in the Member Lounge or on the course. Members are reminded that the sale of alcohol, especially in the Member Lounge, may only be carried out by suitably qualified Hotel staff. On no account may a Member “help themselves” if the bar is unattended. Membership The Membership year commences on 1 April and renewal notices will be issued during February. There will be a general increase in line with the latest CPI movement of 2.4%. Members are reminded that payment of subscriptions is required in order to play at the Club from 1 April. Over December and January we welcomed 29 new Members to Magenta Shores: Individual – Cesar Rodriguez; Intermediate – Jacob Adele, Noah Pagden, Chris Pryor, Jake Martin, Mackenzie Kay; Lifestyle – Simone Parcell, Jason Parcell, Cameron Peoples, Neil Allard, Michael Johnson, Adrian Cleary, Alex Lucas, Marie d’Alessandri, Alison Free, Weison Dai, Michael Grace, Amber Steinwede, David Lyons, Kent Paisley, Anthony Stead, Ivan Capeski, Mark Kelly, Kelly Wood, Wayne Dicks; Juniors – William Martin, Jack Harrison, Harley Cruickshank, Lewis Cruickshank. Welcome all new Members. At the end of January our total membership stood at 1025. Weather We are in the warmest and most humid time of the year and we remind Members to ensure proper hydration while on the course. Weather warnings are displayed in carts with the Visage screens however with increased numbers of players walking, and with increasing frequency of dangerous weather events, especially the recent lightning strikes and consequent closing of the course for 30 minutes while a storm passed, we are approaching MiScore to see if weather warnings can be incorporated into the scoring module so that such notifications are available on your mobile phone. On behalf of the Board, Peter Gaydon
