IMPORTANT NOTES
Guests and Visitors
The Match Committee and Board are aware of the number of guests and visitors using the course and the increasing number of Members and the demands on tee times. A considerable amount of work and research is going into analysis of usage, green fee revenue and Member priority times. Some proposals are soon to be considered by the Match Committee and the Board. The Club is still reliant on significant Green Fee income from visitors and Hotel Guests but with increasing membership this reliance is declining.
Late Cancellations – Respect your fellow Members.
Thanks for the improvement. Still a way to go.
Social Play on Saturdays and Wednesdays - Slow Play
Nobody can play social golf during competition times on Saturday and Wednesday. Social play on these days is only available late in the afternoon.
Family Day – Sunday October 19
Get ready. Ask your golfing relatives to play. One in each pair must be a Member of Magenta Shores. Three trophies. Husband and wife (including de facto relationships). Siblings – round up a sister or brother – in-laws allowed. Magenta Generations – a pair representing different generations. Grandparents and grand children, fathers and mothers with sons or daughters. Two brand new trophies – an opportunity to get your names there first!
Par 3 Event
The first Par 3 2-ball Ambrose event for Spring will be held on Friday 26th September. Join in the fun on the course and pizza and drinks afterwards.
Course Hole Indices
Course hole indices are being reviewed. This is the first time for many years and the course has had many changes since the last review. Some interesting preliminary results! Work still to be done. We are also looking at Scratch Ratings and Slopes.
Free Clinics
Good to see these being used. Really positive feedback. Book in via the booking sheet system.
CCDGA Thanks
At the Central Coast District Golf Association meeting this week Mick Lamaro who looks after junior golf for the district was glowing in his praise for Magenta for agreeing at the last minute to host 24 young golfers to play their Encourage Shield matches when all the other courses in the district were closed or almost unplayable. He could not believe just how firm our fairways and greens were. The youngsters really appreciated being able to play our magnificent course and complete their round of matches.
We are hosting City v Country junior tournament on 8th October. If you want to see 12 girls and 12 boys who may be stars of the future come and watch. On 9th and 10th we have the Jack Newton Junior Golf Matchplay NSW finals which will also be worth watching.
