The Club’s annual general meeting will be held on 31 October at 5pm. At the meeting Members will have the opportunity to vote for both Men’s Captain and Women’s Captain, with both John Wylie and Kerri Cook offering to continue in office, and the election of one new Director, with the Board putting Peter Gaydon forward to provide continuity in Club governance following the termination of the Management Agreement. Nomination forms were due by 5pm today.
Notice of the AGM with accompanying documents will be sent to Members by next Friday, 10 October. Included will be a special resolution to vote for a revised Club Constitution that will reflect the termination of the Management Agreement.
As you know, Paul Riley stepped down as General Manager with his last day being 10 October, however he has accepted our offer of an early departure from Magenta so that he can establish his family in Sydney. Members had the opportunity to farewell Paul after their rounds on Saturday last. In the interim Matt Shannon has become General Manager on contract until 31 March 2026 and in the meantime the Club will conduct an extensive search in the market for our new permanent GM. We believe, following termination of the management agreement, the Club has an improved story to tell with greater clarity about structure and the future.
Magenta Foundation
The constitution of the trustee of the Magenta Foundation provides for the appointment of a director elected by the members of Magenta Shores Golf and Country Club Ltd at each Annual General Meeting of the Club.
The present directors of the trustee invite Club members to nominate candidates for election by the members.
The role of the trustee directors is to manage the fund raising activities and the affairs generally of the trustee and so of the Magenta Foundation. Funds raised by the Foundation are applied to projects to the benefit of the Club and its members.
If you are able to make a contribution in this way please refer to the email you received on 26 September and respond by 8 October 2025, so that notice of voting can be sent to members with the Club’s 2024-5 Annual Report.

Golf Carts
A reminder that the new fleet of Club Car golf carts is due later this month, resplendent in their blue and beige livery. The carts are being replaced a year ahead of time and while there is a slight increase in the monthly financing payments there is a significant saving in repair and maintenance costs associated with the current ageing fleet. The new models will feature improved Visage control systems.
For the Board
