It’s been a fantastic month here at Kurri Golf Club, and there’s plenty to celebrate!
🏆 Pennant Season - What a Result!
The men’s pennant season has wrapped up - and what a season it was!
Our A Grade team delivered an outstanding performance. Maitland came into the final undefeated and looked strong early at Cypress Lakes, leading in two matches after nine holes. Kurri held the advantage in one, with two matches all square. But in true Kurri fashion, our boys surged home to claim a 3/2 victory, a brilliant effort!
In B Grade, Captain Hayden Buxton led a determined side alongside Andrew Goodridge, Stephen Roe, Barry Vercoe, and Brian McInnes. Kurri came out strong, winning the first two matches 5 & 4. Muswellbrook fought back to even things up, leaving it all to the final match. Barry Vercoe held his nerve under pressure, securing the win with a clutch par—an incredible finish!
Our C Grade team successfully defended their 2025 title, defeating Singleton 3/2 at Paterson. With the contest evenly poised, it came down to Captain Dave Pinnington, who sank a pressure-packed 4-metre putt on the 18th to secure the Bercini Cup. A fantastic achievement by the team!
Our Senior Pennant team, captained by John Rarity, also put in a strong showing this season. The team played six matches and secured three wins, finishing equal 3rd in their division. Well done to everyone involved on a solid campaign. Congratulations also to Aberdeen Golf Club, who took out the Senior Pennant title.
Our Ladies Pennant team has one match remaining and will face Branxton at Muswellbrook on April 20 . We wish them the very best -
Master Pennant (over 50's) and Super Senior Pennant (over 65) Teams are selected soon , if you are interested in playing please submit your name on the Notice Board in the clubhouse.
