Welcome to the August newsletter, we are off to a wet start to the month with only 29 starters in the Monthly Mug/Medal, George Bailey was in his element with the scottish like weather and won the Monthly Mug with 75 Nett and Tracey Toner won the Ladies.
Unfortunately the East Coast Low set in and the course closed , the Weston Bears Golf Day had to be cancelled on the Sunday.
The  new POS over the Bar has been running now for a couple of weeks and Trish is now a whiz on the new screen impressing all the young ones. New Member cards are available in the ProShop at the moment which allows you to receive Member prices and Loyalty Points at the Bar but Prize accounts are still only available in the ProShop. More news in next months Newsletter, we are working on it.
Golf Australia are introducing a new GolfLink system which will be known as Golf Connect, Golf Australia CONNECT will go live to golfers and golf organisations from Thursday October 2.
Kurri Golf Club will be transitioned to Golf Australia Connect between 28 September and 10 October, with a full timetable of system upgrades to be provided in due course.
As per Golf Australia’s recommendation it is strongly recommended that clubs do not schedule handicap golf from September 29 for a period of 2 weeks. We will advise you when handicapping will not be available .
Internal daily club competitions (all formats), including normal procedures for prize allocations and posting, can still be run through our MiClub golf management system during this time.
Golf Australia have provided the following provisional timetable in respect to the implementation of the new Golf Australia Connect handicapping platform:

Campbelltown PGA Open match played on Monday and Harry shot 2 under Par in the wet conditions to win by 1 shot . 
Harry is in his 2nd year of a 3 year course and notched up his 1st win to set him up for the NSW State Championships to be held at Tura Beach in late August.

It is not to late to rejoin as the fees are now overdue , Members accounts that are overdue have  be made unfinancial and Golflink will not work, this means your handicap will be void and you cant play in competitions so please fix this up asap. IMPORTANT
Both players must attain the age of 18 years by the date of the State Final.
Both players must be affiliated members of the golf club hosting the Club Qualifying Event
Two Person Ambrose (Men’s, Women’s & Mixed)
The Pair must have a minimum combined daily handicap of 8 (eg. if one player’s daily handicap is 4 and the second players daily handicap is 2 – they cannot play together because combined that is only 6)   Each player in the pair must have no more than 20 strokes difference in their daily handicap. (eg. If thelowest marker’s daily handicap is 5, their partner must playoff no more than a daily handicap of 25).
NOTE: If a pairs daily handicaps are more than 20 strokes different, the higher marker will be limited to a daily handicap 20 strokes above the lower marker’s daily handicap.
The pair’s PLAYING handicap on the day will be ¼ of their combined daily handicap.

We look to maximise carry distance while maintaining an even and consistent 5mph gap in ball speed between clubs. This prevents you from carrying two clubs that do the same job or playing a club with so much distance variance that you can’t play it with confidence.

Dispersion Control
We analyse your shot pattern and compare options to ensure your results fall into the tightest and most predictable range of outcomes possible. The goal here is to make sure your clubs are doing their part in getting you closer to the hole.

Descent Angle
With every iron, you need to consistently launch your ball high enough to bring it down steep enough to hold the green. Many players are surprised to hear that their irons should all ideally reach a similar peak height to produce the descent angles you need to score with every club.
